Plan B, complete.

A while back I wrote about how I was going to be taking part in findarace.com‘s Plan B initiative, a series of virtual races and distance goals to keep runners motivated during the lockdown. I chose the 200km total, and to make things a bit tougher for myself, because I was used to doing relatively high mileage anyway, I decided to only include my road running (to clarify, treadmill runs didn’t count towards my Plan B total) and to try and have it done by today (April 19).

And after the morning’s long run, I’m done!

I don’t feel like I really need too much motivation to get out and run at the minute, but it has been nice to have some further inspiration to keep me on the road and off the treadmill for the most part. This isn’t to say I haven’t been using the treadmill as well, I have, it’s just, well, what else is there to do but run? I don’t know. I’ve been doing a lot of it.

It is also safe to say that I am, currently — touch wood, fingers crossed, and all that — the fittest that I have ever been.

So, in all, I’d say this has been a pretty fine way to spend lockdown so far.
